Investigate

Youre probably wondering what is digital commerce.
Digital Commerce: electronic buying and selling of goods. Technology leaders need to understand that a large share of market economy is being done electronically. Legitimate and legal exchanges are occurring. There are now Internet purchases available of toys, clothing, cars, food, etc.Access to almost any product raises the question of legal and illegal acts by the user. Students need to be taught that options in a non-electronic society are also found in an electronic society. The rise of the digital economy does not change the issue of right and wrong, but it does enhance the user’s access to buying and selling goods, which magnifies the issue of illegal activities.

Each specialty area seems to have a language all its' own. This is especially the case when you consider any topic that involves computers. Sometimes it seems like the experts may be making up the terminology as they speak.

Anything, anytime, anywhere . . .
We no longer live in a material world.
What was the last fifty page report you typed on a mechanical typewriter?
How we acquire and use information is undergoing dramatic change. This is largely due to the combined use of computer, database, and communications technologies. The notion of electronic commerce is an innovative application of this combination. No one knows where it will lead to. But by looking at several leading sites one may gain insight into the current direction.

It's hard to put a good book down!

January 14th: Give our lesson to Mr North's grade 5 class

Our plan is to give the grade 5 class an informative lesson about digital commerce. This will include lots of fun activities. Such as showing how to buy goods online, for example, patchi chocolate. We will pretend to have bought it online. We will make a small act with having the patchi delivered to us and we sign it. Then we are going to give out the chocolate to students. This will be very interesting for students because they still dont know how to buy stuff online. So this will be an introductary for them. Also we will have many more activities and games. In the end of the games we will give a prizs to the winners. Also after the completion of the lesson we will give a short questionare to the students about the lesson to see what they have captured and if our lesson was good enough and taught the students well. Also the students with the highest scores on the questionare will get a prize.

Evaluate

There are two types of evaluation for this project: peer and self.
Peer evaluation will be in the formative stage of the project to help you get ready for your presentation.
Self evaluation will be summative and include all elements of the project as a concluding reflection.
Overall, I think me and Aisha did an excellent job in our overall creation and presentation of our lesson. I think that after we were done presenting our lesson the students were well aware about digital commerce. I understood that from their ability to answer the questions we asked them and the jepeordy game we played. Their knowledge was clearly shown. Also their parcipation that thye gave in showed that they were really interested. Also the teachers comment and feedbacks about the lesson was very pleasing. The only thing i would change if i had a chance to do it again is the technical problems that we had at the beggining of the lesson. Me and Aisha really enjoyed this project and we most injoyed the acuall presentation part. This was the most enjoyable as we had so much fun with the class. ALso i learnt alot in the create process and this wiki also gave me more knowledge about how to embed the video i created, my powerpoint and the brochure. Also it this project taught me how to communicate using technology for example between me and Aisha between the Mr North and while presenting the actual presentation using a projector and so on... The feedback that Mr North gave us also stated that he thought we spoke clearly which is a very important aspect of presenting to an audience.. Also said he "loved the taste of Patchi chocolate. Thank you girls."
However even though this project had good sides it also had some negative sides to it. For example the fact that we had to record all our information and insert all of the artifacts on this wiki was a little bit irritating as wikispaces wasnt very co-operative and working all the time. Also the acuall assigment itself could of been more amusing for example a better topic that is more interesting and is amusing for us to find out about it not just to inform others.
